Walk N Roll to School Every wednesday!

We are excited to be rolling out a new program at Gregory Gardens and creating a culture of active transportation and climate awareness at our school. Using an app, volunteers will greet and scan participating students’ Key Tags when they arrive on bikes, scooters, by walking, or in a carpool.

INCENTIVES ~ Students love this program! For every fourth trip a child checks in, they will receive a trip charm to add to their key tag. Additional special charms are given out to participants on Thanksgiving, Winter, Valentine’s Day, Spring, and End of the Year as well as on rainy days. 

Your student will receive a key tag that goes on their backpack. Every student can start participating in Walk ‘n Roll Wednesday immediately and use their tag to check in. The Active4me app will record trips using the barcode number and a default setting of 0.5 miles and Walking, so your child can start participating straight away!

PARTICIPATION ~ Registration is not required for participation, but it is fun and encourages kids through their own statistics. If walking or rolling to school is not possible for you, park & walk as well as carpooling is encouraged and can be registered as well! Let’s get active and help ourselves by helping the environment once per week.

REGISTER ~ Students will be able to register on Nov. 5 when they come home with their Key tags, bar code information and instruction flyer.
