GREGORY GARDENS READ-A-THON – SEPTEMBER 2025

The Gregory Gardens Elementary PTA is excited to host our annual Read-a-Thon this September! Serving students in TK through 5th grade, the Read-a-Thon is a fun, school-wide fundraiser that celebrates the joy of reading while raising money to support important programs at our school.

Over the course of two weeks, students will set reading goals, track their progress, and invite family and friends to sponsor their efforts. Donations raised will directly fund PTA-supported programs like classroom supplies, art and music enrichment, assemblies, and the Gator Pantry.

This year’s Read-a-Thon will also include:

• Special Activities like dress-up days, book recitals, and guest readers
• Incentives and Prizes to motivate students at every grade level
• Corporate Matching Opportunities through Benevity so families can double their impact
   

Every page read helps our school community grow stronger, and every donation,  big or small, makes a difference for our TK–5th grade students. Together, we can reach our goals, build excitement for reading, and give back to our school!

Did you know many companies will match your donation to Gregory Gardens Elementary PTA through a platform called Benevity? That means your gift could go twice as far at no extra cost to you! 

Here’s how:

1. Log into your company’s giving or HR portal
2. Search for Gregory Gardens Elementary PTA in Benevity
3. Submit your donation or match request

Every matched dollar helps us fund programs like Scholastic newsletters, the garden, and various Gator programs!

Here’s a pro tip for Read-A-Thon 📚✨:

When grandparents, aunts, uncles, or family friends send your child donations (ex: $50 from Grandma + $20 from a friend), have them Venmo it to you directly. Then, submit the total donation through your company’s Benevity matching program if available. 

👉 Example:

Family donates $70 total

You submit $70 through Benevity

Your company matches it = $140 for our school! 🎉

It’s a simple way to double the impact of every dollar raised while making it easy for family and friends to support your child’s reading goals.
