GREGORY GARDENS READ-A-THON – SEPTEMBER 2026

The Gregory Gardens Read-a-Thon runs September 21–October 2! During these two weeks, students will read, track their progress, and raise money to support Gregory Gardens.

1. Find Your Student’s Class Link & Ask for Sponsors
Caregivers can find their student’s class donation link below. Share your class link with family and friends and invite them to sponsor your reader! Sponsors can make a flat donation or pledge a certain amount for every minute or page read.

2. Read & Record | September 21–October 2
Students read throughout the Read-a-Thon and track their pages or minutes read each day using the reading log provided.

3. Collect Donations | Pledges Due October 2
All pledges should be made by October 2. Online donations are preferred and can be made directly through your student’s class donation link below. Cash and check donations are also accepted.

4. Turn In Reading Logs | October 2–13
Completed reading logs can be submitted beginning October 2 and are due no later than October 13.

Every student who submits a completed reading log with donations will be invited to a special Read-a-Thon Celebration!

Grades TK–2: Musical storytelling celebration with Patrick Rehmer on October 15

Grades 3–5: Karaoke Dance Party on October 16

The top readers and top donation earners in each grade will also receive special recognition and an award at the celebration.

Your donation may be eligible for a company match! Many employers use Benevity to match charitable donations. Check your employer’s giving portal to see if your gift to Gregory Gardens can be matched, potentially doubling your impact at no additional cost to you.

Important Dates:
September 21–October 2: Read, track, and collect pledges
October 2: Final day for pledges
October 2–13: Submit completed reading logs
October 13: Final deadline for reading logs

Did you know many companies will match your donation to Gregory Gardens Elementary PTA through a platform called Benevity? That means your gift could go twice as far at no extra cost to you! 

Here’s how:

1. Log into your company’s giving or HR portal
2. Search for Gregory Gardens Elementary PTA in Benevity
3. Submit your donation or match request

Every matched dollar helps us fund programs like Scholastic newsletters, the garden, and various Gator programs!

Here’s a pro tip for Read-A-Thon 📚✨:

When grandparents, aunts, uncles, or family friends send your child donations (ex: $50 from Grandma + $20 from a friend), have them Venmo it to you directly. Then, submit the total donation through your company’s Benevity matching program if available. 

👉 Example:

Family donates $70 total

You submit $70 through Benevity

Your company matches it = $140 for our school! 🎉

It’s a simple way to double the impact of every dollar raised while making it easy for family and friends to support your child’s reading goals.
